Reclaim Islington - Block C
Developed through Reclaim Islington, Cubitt’s two-year programme that explored new ways of working with Islington communities, Block C responded to increasing pressure placed on arts and education. Developed in response to the marginalisation of creative subjects within the curriculum, the project reclaimed a disused technology classroom as a site for learning and making.
Through the residency, the artists worked closely with teachers and students, with their studios based within ASMI school, embedding artistic practice directly into the school environment. The project was led by resident artists michael., Niki Kohandel, and Jasmin Bhanji.
